The Dining Room
Year of photo unknown except between 1956 and 1965.
The dining room used to have stairs right across the front. When I first went to Sakeji, there were about 50 children there. But the school grew to about 110 and the dorms and dining room needed to be expanded. You can see where the extension is by the change in the colour of the roof.
All of us children were in this dining room once when it was struck by lightning. Part of a stair and part of a brick were knocked out. Also, a tree that doesn't appear in the picture was stripped of it's bark on the dining room side.
